WHAT DISTRICT DO I FILE A SUIT IN

There are six Justice of the Peace Courts and one City Court in West Baton Rouge Parish. You are filing a suit in Ward Four Justice of the Peace Court. If you or the defendant do not know if you are within these boundaries, we will direct you to the correct Justice of the Peace or City Court to file your claim.

Please note: All Court sessions will begin at 5:00p.m. Monday through Friday. This court has taken the policy of holding evening sessions (night court) so that the inconvenience to both parties may be minimized. While we understand that this may be a hardship on some people the benefits to most citizen's far out weigh this.
